The
office building was originally constructed at the turn of the century.
It was originally used as a Standard Oil Company home heating oil
refueling station.
In 1980, Ed Walsh renovated the
building and retained it's historical significance to the City
of Wheaton.
The
building is conveniently located in downtown Wheaton, the county seat
of DuPage County, Illinois. Wheaton is a Chicago suburban community
with a population of 56,000. It is the home of the prestigious liberal
arts institution, Wheaton College. Wheaton is also the hometown of
such famous people as Bob Woodward, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist
and author who investigated and uncovered the Nixon Administration
Watergate scandal, the famous comedian and Blues Brother, John Belushi,
and the legendary football player known as the "Wheaton Ice Man",
Red Grange.
The population of DuPage County
exceeds one million and is the first county immediately west of
Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.
